Recently I've been asked, "What is Shea Butter". Shea Butter comes from the nut of the Shea Nut Tree which grows in Africa. Shea Butter has been used for centuries by African women to moisturize and protect the skin from wind, sun, heat and salt water.
Some of Shea Butter's benefits include; promotes healthy skin renewal, increases circulation, accelerates wound healing. Shea Butter is also rich in vitamins A, E and F along with other vitamins and minerals. It is absorded by the skin readily and does not clog pores. Shea Butter is also known to be helpful in cases of eczema, and dermatitus. Because of its ability to penetrate into the skin, it is helpful in restoring the skins elasiticity.
To this fabulous butter, we've aslo add Emu Oil, which is one of my favorite oils. Although not vegan, it is an oil that our skin readily accepts and the only animal oil that we use. This very moisturizing oil has been used for centuries by the Aborigine people of Australia. When applied to the skin, it can penetrate up to three layers of the epidermis, making it a powerful moisturizer. Emu Oil has also been found to help relieve pain. Emu Oil naturally contains: Vitamin E, a major antioxidant and healing agent; Vitamin A, a known skin repairer and antioxidant; Linoleic acid, which eases muscle aches and joint pain; Oleic acid, a proven skin cell regenerator, anti-wrinkle agent; Sapogens, proven skin softeners; Terpines, known antiseptics.
