Four New Soaps Revealed
Yesterday I made four new soaps, and asked my Facebook liker's to try and guess what scents they were. That as a lot of fun, and very interesting to see what people came up with. On my Facebook page I will reveal who won a free soap.
The first soap is Honey Almond Goat's Milk Soap. This soap is a full goat's milk soap. I also added a little vanilla, so the top honeycomb layer is scented in Vanilla, and the rest of the soap is scented in Almond. This is a cocoa butter soap, and will be just lovely to use.
The next soap I made is May Chang. "May Chang" is another name for Litsea. This is a nice essential oil that is known to hold its scent better in cold process soap and smells a little lighter than lemongrass. This soap is scented with a blend of Orange, Lavender, Rosemary and Litsea. It has a gorgeous scent in my opinion. To the bottom I added Apricot Kernel meal exfolliant, and also calendula petals to the middle and top part of the soap.
The third soap I made is a seasonal remake, only I made the appearance a little different this year. This one is Orange and Chocolate. Smells Divine. The bottom layer is scented in Chocolate, as well as part of the top, so these layers will darken. In the middle I put orange Jojoba beads, to give it colour as well as a little exfoliation.
And the last soap I made is also a seasonal remake, only I have changed it up a little. This one is Grama's Kitchen. The scent on this one is a combination of clove, cinnamon, and vanilla with a hint of caramel and apple, followed by earthy base notes. I did another separate layer in just vanilla, to give it a warmer scent.
So thanks again to everyone who participated in trying to guess these soaps. It was fun.

Pink Sugar Soap Cake
I really enjoy making soap cakes, and I absolutely love the scent of Pink Sugar. I am happy with the way this one turned out. I also made cupcakes in the same scent and design.
And here is what is looks like when cut.
And this is what they look like when packaged.
These are really big slices, most of them weighing in over 200 grams, so they can easily be cut in half or into thirds for easier use.

Some New Products
If you don't read my News Letter, or like me on Facebook, you may have missed some new products that are now available and on the website. Yesterday I made these Herbal Bath Tea's. I'm calling them the Perfect Bath, because I love all the ingredients that have gone into them. Made with Coconut Milk Powder, Whole Oats, Sea Salts, Epsom Salts, Botanical's and therapeutic Essential Oils.
New Love Magik Soap and Love Magik Cupcakes are also new and on the website.

And the last product that is fairly new is our Whipped Shea and Mango Butters. These are just butters, whipped together and scented with essential oils. Really nice for dry, sore, or damaged skin.

Discontinuing Product
Lately I have been taking inventory of my products, and I have decided that I just have to many. Although I love Bath and Body products, my passion is soap making. So over the next little while, I am going to be going over all my products, and see which ones are worth keeping. All of them take time to make, cost money to purchase the supplies to make them, and if they are not big sellers, then it is not worth while in keeping them. Some that I have already decided to discontinue are:
1) Liquid Shampoo and Conditioner
2) Natural Baby Wash
3) Foaming Dead Sea Mineral Soak
4) Kaolin Clay Bath Soak
5) Shea Butter Shower Smoother
These products are very slow movers and I have already taken most of them off of the website. I do however have a couple left on all of them, so if you are interested in purchasing, please email me at info at mountain farmsoap dot ca. I will sell them at discounted prices,
